WEATHER STILL UNSETTLED

SCATTERED RAIN PROBABLE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. 7 The weather will still be rather unsettled, with scattered rain, but improving in the western and southern districts of the South Island. Temperatures will be cooler. The pressure situation is very complex. A anti-cyclone is moving on to southern New Zealand and a depression is centred over the North Tasman Sea, while another is approaching from eastern Australia. Winds will be moderate to strong northerlies at first from Nelson and Marlborough northward, but a change to south or south-east is advancing from the south. Seas in New Zealand waters will be rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits, but elsewhere moderate, but rising south of East Cape. In the eastern Tasman Sea variable winds, with south to east prevailing, and moderate to rather rough seas are expected.
