KAIMATA GENERAL NEWS
PERSONAL AND GENERAL ITEMS. Messrs. H. Dempsey, W. H. Jones and J. C. Barclay, members of the Taranaki Education Board, accompanied by Mr. H. W. Insull (secretary), paid an official visit to the Kaimata School on Thursday on their annual tour of inspection. The members remarked upon the brightness of the classrooms, the pleasant site and surroundings of the school, and the improvements to the grounds since their previous visit. A feature of interest was the rubber work done by the juniors, All expressed themselves as pleased with a song which the senior pupils had set to music and sung for them. After inspecting the grounds the visitors were entertained at afternoon tea by Mrs. Buchanan before they departed for New Plymouth. The Kaimata Basketball team, comprising Misses P. Paul (captain), R. Paul, R. Dobson, E. Klenner, I. Buckley, E. Searle, E. Heriihy, E. Stieller and C. Harnett played a friendly match with the Norfolk club at Norfolk Road on Friday afternoon. An enjoyable game was won by Norfolk by 9 to 6. The Kaimata cheese factory has experienced an excellent season for output, all being either first or finest grade. .Compared with that at this time last season the present output is two cheeses a day more. The payment for butterfat next month is 6d a lb. Mr. and Mrs. J. Moratti and Miss Ireland, Kaimata Road, who have been spending a fortnight’s holiday in the South Island, have returned home after a very enjoyable trip. Mrs. F. Adlam has returned from New Plymouth, where she has been spending a few days.
