LIVESTOCK MARKET.. FEILDING SALE PRICES. Feilding, March 10. Fifteen thousand sheep, principally fats and breeding ewes, were carded for to-day’s sale, foe high, prices ruling at previous sale? attracting the heavy yardjpg. Prices for fat ewes declined Is a head, but fat lapff>s maintained Igst week’s rate?. Exporter? again operated freely, compelling butchers to pay high prices. Primest fot lambs, 13s ?d; prime, Ils tp 12s; good, 10? Ifi to 10s 10d; fair quality, 8? 7d ito 9? Bd. Fat ewes: Primest maiden, 9s 6d; prime, 6s Id; gopd, 5s lOd to 5s lid; fair, 5s 6d to 5s Bd, Prime fat wethers, Ils 9d to 12s; twotopths, 10s 9d. There was a keen demand for breeding ewes, though vendors’ reserves were too high in several cases. Good four and five-year ewes, 9? 6d; fair, 8s 2d down to 'gs Id; four-tooth ewes, good, 12? 4d to 11? 6fi; two-tooth ewes, yery good, 10s to 17s; other?, at 12? 6d to 14s 9d. A small yarding of dairy cattle met With a fair demand. Springing pows, good, £5 10s; fair, £3 10? tq £4 15s; heifer? in milk, 80s. SHEEPSKINS AND HIDES.
WELLINGTON SALE PRICES.
The usual fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow was held on Friday by the combined Wellington brokers. Competition was keen for sheepskin?, but the market showed a slightly easier tendency. The hides market, on account pf foe financial upheaval in the United States, suffered a decline cn prices recently current. Overseas orders were not in existence, and the market was mainly supported by tanngfs, who bid freely at the lower level. Only stout, heavy ox, kip and calf maintained last sale’s values, medium and light ox and cow hides showing a decline pf from 3-8 d to Id. The tallow market was weak, prices being Is to Is 6d per cwt. lower. The following is the official range of prices:— Dry Sheepskins: Halfbred, 3jd to 4|d; fine crossbred, 3Jd to 41d; medium crossbred, 2Jd to 3d; coarse crossbred, 2d to 2fd; half wools, 2d to 3§d; quarter wools, lid fo 3ld,’ pelts, id to 2}d. Salted skins: Pelts, 9d; quarter wools, 9d; lambs, Bd. Hides: Ox, 331 b. to 441 b., 1 7-8 d to 4 l-8d; 451 b. to 521 b., 2d to 3 7-Bfi; 531 b. to 591 b., 2 l-8d to 4 l-8d; 601 b, to 691 b., 4 3-8 d to 6|d; 701 b. and over, 3 l-8d to 6Jd.
