The billiards match between Davis and Lindrum for the Gold Cup ended with Davis scoring 24,758 and Lindrum 24,007, including a break of 881. The papers emphasise that though Lindrum was beaten in every game his superiority is unquestionable. The baulk line handicap alone prevented him overcoming the huge starts conceded to his opponents. , Newman and McConachy begin the deciding match for the Gold Cup on March 13.
