DEMAND FOR WOOL AT SYDNEY.
By Telegraph—Press Assn.— Copyright. Rec. 8.55 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 23. At the wool sales to-day 12,456 bales were offered and 11,858 were sold. In addition 1836 bales were disposed of privately. Under excited and general competition the market ruled very firm at the closing rates of last week, with specially keen, inquiry for fine quality wools. Greasy Merino sold to 21Jd .
