WANGANUI GIRLS’ COLLEGE. The Wanganui Girls’ College building is a handsome, commodious structure of brick and wood, provided with everything necessary for the comfortable and orderly life of- its inmates. The teaching staff, under the able direction of the Principal, Miss A. C. Tizard, M.A., is -f such high calibre that parents can rest assured of the successful preparation of students for examinations up to first Section of University Degrees. Attention is drawn to the following facts— Special provision is made for safety in case of fire, and a hospital room* is kept free for use in case of illness. The grounds are tastefully laid out in lawns and flower gardens, and include, besides Hockey and Basketball Grounds, seven asphalt Tennis Courts, and a large Swimming Baths. A special mistress takes charge of physical drill, games apd athletics. The greatest possible atis given to securing good allround development, especially as regards character. The welfare of the pupils is the first consideration of the. Board of Governors and the staff, and particular attention is *paid to the boarding establishment. Boarding fees are very reasonable, and there has been no increase in these for many years, despite the increased cost of food and service.
