AMNESTY FOR 6000 PRISONERS.

The amnesty on the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the march on Rome affects 6000 political prisoners, conditionally on their embracing Fascism, including those serving five-year terms, whose, sentences have been remitted. Sentences between five and ten years have been given three years’ remission and those over ten years five years’ remission provided they serve at least seven years. The amnesty does not apply to persons sentenced in their absence unless they return to Italy within four months and serve a portion of their sentence. The amnesty does not apply to soldiers and sailors sentenced for treason. The amnesty excludes political offenders exiled in the Lipari Islands, also those who have served more than one term of imprisonment.
