FREEZING WORKS DISPUTE
‘ NEW TERMS NOT ACCEPTED.
POSITION IN CANTERBURY.

The new terms and conditions were ellfotced at the Canterbury freezing works to-day. As a result no union men except firemen and greasers accepted work this morning at the New Zealand Refrigerating Company’s works at Islington. No call was made for free labour. Work was carried on as usual at Borthwick and Sons’ works, and at the Canterbury frozen meat works, both at Belfast.
The majority of the men of these two places are permanent hands, and little killing waft done. At Islington 100 inen are involved.
