The Stock Exchange turnover was below normal to-day as is customary when a new loan is on the market. Bank scrip was fairly well supported, while leading industrials held thenground' well.

YORKSHIRE BUYING IMPROVES.
Rec. 9.15 p.m. Sydney, Nov. 7. The wool market was firm to-day at last week’s closing rates. Of the 11,739 bales offered to-day 10,997 were sold, also 2218 were disposed of privately. Continental and Japanese buyers were the chief operators and there was improved buying on Yorkshire account. Greasy merino made 16Jd per lb.
