AUCKLAND MAYOR’S OPINION. HOUSE SHORTAGE POSSIBLE. Bv Telegraph.—Press Association. . Auckland, Oct. 26. In opening a. conference of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand to-day, the Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, expressed the opinion that business conditions showed. a slight upward trend. The improvement in the trading position was definite, the surplus of exports in the last eight months having been £13,--000,000. He said that he had reached the conclusion that there would soon be a definite shortage of houses The land agency business would be amongst the first to recover from th© depression.
