RAHOTU NEWS
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Rahotu croquet lawn has been very well patronised. The Opunake ladies have paid a visit to try their strength and were beaten ■by seven points. Mr. T. P. Hughson, sen., with Mr. and Mrs. Tyrrell, are touring tlie Auckland district and are at present at Rotorua, Mr. Tyrrell being a delegate for the Wood Pulp Company. Mr. R. Baylie, Kina Road, is improving at the hospital. Mr. Corrie, sen., is staying with his daughter, Mrs. Eric Loouey. The wbeatgrowers have at last erected their stacks after much loss, worry and anxiety. Mr. Cameron lost his hay stack by fire. The hay was from a 28acre paddock. He was unfortunate enough to lose one last year also. Mrs. Small is visiting New Plymouth. Her little son is still far from well. Mr. W. Bennett is away on holiday. The Rahotu hall has had improvements effected to the back part. A kitchen has been attached and fitted with a' boiler, sink, benches, etc. Two new cement entrance poeta have also been erected.
