NEW PLYMOUTH GUN CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The New Plymouth Gun Club held its annual meeting on Thursday. Mr. J. Power presided over a fair attendance and several apologies for abs nee were received. In moving the adoption of the report and financial statement Mr. Jago spoke at length on the satisfactory position of the club’s finances. Shifting over to ths new ground had been more costly than anticipated and he congratulated the flecretary and treasurer on the success of their efforts. Mr. Power voiced the club’s appreciation of the afternoon tea served by Mesdames Winiki, Parli and Dixon. Mr. Power also spoke of the practical interest in the club’s welfare shown by Mr. W. O'Brien, Hawera, and it was unanimously resolved to record in the minutes the club’s appreciation. Several new members had joined during the year and it was decided, to reduce the limit handicap from 11 yards to 9 yards. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. VV. H. Moyes; president, Mr. J. Power (re-elected); vice-presi-dents, eight elected; delegate to Taranaki Gun Club’s Association, Mr. O. George; committee, Messrs. G. Taylor, R. Baker, B. Wheeler and officers exofficio; hon. treasurer, Mr. J. Winiki; hon. secretary, Mr, H. Dixon. The meeting passed votes of thanks to the chair and to Mr. George for the use of his room.
