' ’ MIRFIN—MeKAY. The wedding took place at St. Andrew’s Church, Ohura, on Wednesday, Auo-uet 12, of Myrtle, second daughter of °Mr. i and Mrs. W.. T. McKay, and Melville.- Mirfin, Matiere. The Rev. Rand, Taumarunui, performed the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her f ther, -wore a model frock of parchment .satin with a close-fitting bodice and featuring a fully-flared skirt finished with a wide hem of silver brocade. She wore a beautiful lace veil, which w<is lent by friend of the biidCj carried a sheaf of lilies and maidenhair In attendance were two bridesmaids, Miss Agnes Collins and Miss Gladys Cieland,° who were dressed alike- in almond green satin frocks with fully flared skirts and cape collars of georgette. They wore primrose felt hats with shoes and stockings to match and carried bouquets of yellow Iceland poppies and maidenhair fem. Miss Marjorie Stevenson, the little flower girl, was dressed in a long green georgette frock, fashioned on the same lines as those of the bridesmaids, and carried a posy of yellow Iceland poppies. Master Brian Abbott, K ponga, a nephew ot the bride, was page boy and wae dressed in a suit of parchment satin. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Ashton Mirfin, Greymouth, as best man and Mr. R. Millen as groomsman. After the ceremony the guests, who numbered about 70, repaired to the re- • sidence of Mr. ant Mrs. McKay, where Mrs. McKay to receive her guests a smart black tailored costume with a black and. white hat, and carried a bouquet, of violets and maidenhair fern. After the toast list had been, honoured the wedding cake, the gift of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Abbott, Kaponga, was cut by the bride. - The couple left by- train for Taumarunui, whence they went on a motor tour of the North and South Islands. A pretty wedding was solemnised on August 12 at the residence of the bride*, mother, Opunake Road, Lowgarth, when Archie, < lest son of Mr. S. Rogers, Tututawa, was married to Frances Isobell, eldest daughter of Mrs. F. J. Cooper and the late Mr. B. E. Cooper, Eltham. Mie carried a shower bouquet of white heath, ejel men, arum and madonna lilies and maidenhair fern, with streamers o white. Little Melba Amon, a cousin oi the bride, wore a long frilled dress oi green georgette, lace bonnet with long ribbon stream ere, and golden shoes. She carried a dainty basket of pale pink rosebndis, cyclamen and maidenhair fem. The bridesmaids were Misses Rose and Marion Amon, cousins of the bride. Both wore ankle length dresses with tight-fitting -leeves, ' iso Rose’s being an.apple green erepe-de-chine with silver coatee, and Miss Marion s shell pink iay on, with net coatee. Both wore silver shoes and aitistic head dresses of silver leaves and pink flowcis, and carried shower bouquets of pink roses, heath, cyclamen and maidenhair fern, with pale pink streamers. Mr. Raymond Amon attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr. Cedric Amon as groomsman. AftSr the ceremony a reception was held at Mr. and Mrs. H. Lord’s residence, Egmont Street, Patea. The reception room was tastefully decorated with white and pink streamers, while in the’ centre above a two-decker weddin«- cake was suspended a large floral bell?
