Ernest Hotson, acting-Governor of Bombay, vice Sir Frederick Sykes, who is on sick leave, was made at Poona this morning. He was inspecting Ferguson College when a student fired two shots from a revolver, but Sir Ernest escaped unhurt. One bullet etruck Sir Ernest Hotson’s coat and was deflected from the heart by a metal button. Sir Ernest personally overpowered his assailant.
