TRAFFIC OFFICER FINED
GOES TO COURT VOLUNTARILY.
Christchurch, June 8.
A touch of novelty was added to the Traffic Court to-day, when the Chief Traffic Inspector, Mr. 11. Macintosh, made a voluntary appearance to answer a charge of driving without proper number plates on his car. “I suppose a fine of £lO would meet the case,” said the magistrate, Mr. E. V. Mosley, smiling. The penalty, however, was altered to the payment of 3s costs, the magistrate remarking that the defendant was taking his gruel like anyone else.
