A SAFETY STACKER. An exhibit of general interest to farmers is the Wallace Safety Stacker. This stacker was shown at the autumn show, but owing to the limited space available it has been necessary to exhibit a miniature model. The stacker, which is entirely new in principle, does away completely with the old-fashioned dangerous boom, an equalising bar, patented, by the firm, taking its place, and enables a revolving mast to be used, allowing stacks of hay or ensilage to be built to any height. The Wallace Stacker can be erected simply, safely and quickly with the assistance of one horse. _ _ Combined with the Grab, it is built in Te Aroha and sent complete with guy ropes, pulleys, pegs, and all that is necessary for erection, to the farmer. Its popularity is demonstrated by the fact that over 200 were sold last season, over 40 of which were installed in Taranaki.
The Wallace Suresco top-dresser, perfected by the same firm, and in use on many farms, is simplicity itself. No cogs, chains or .working parts come in contact with the manure, and ensures efficient running. It is suitable for all classes of manures, particularly potash or gummy mixtures, as it is so easily cleaned. The steel tripod Wallace Harrows displayed are regarded by up-to-date farmers as important implements on the farm. For harrowing old pastures, spreading animal manure . before topdressing, fining down cultivated land, re-grassing hillsides, etc., no better instrument has been designed than the Wallace Tripod Harrow. A new note in skim-milk and water pump efficiency is struck by the latest Wallace Pump. The plunger is made of solid brass, and eliminates the leaking and replacement of leather washers. In addition to these exhibits is a working model of the Wallace Milking Plant, which is becoming increasingly popular in Taranaki. It has been proved a faster and cleaner milker than many previously installed, and at a glance .a casual observer discerns simplicity in operation. Power bills are reduced by the installation of this plant, as is shown by the fact that a 90-gallon Alfa separator, skim-milk and water pumps, together with the machine, are all run on a 1-h.p. motor.
