AN ATTRACTIVE PROPOSITION.
TARANAKI PERMANENT FORESTS, LIMITED. To earn a minimum of £5OO from an investment of £25 paid at the rate of 2s weekly is the attractive proposition which greets visitors at this stall. Some pinus insignia boards are exhibited showing the difference between forest grown and open grown timber. Another board shows the beautiful appearance of this now popular timber when stained to represent walnut, cedar, mahogany, etc. A complete section of a 44-years’-old tree shows clearly a ring for each year of growth. As the company contemplates supplying Taranaki’s enormous cheese crate wants (6,000,000 feet annually) a sample cheese crate is shown. A roll of newsprint made from New Zcaland-o-rown pinus insignis attracts much attention, but it is from the gums for electric light poles, black wattles for firewood, and pinus insignis for general timber purposes, that the company is looking for its revenue. A leading authority contemplates that at no distant date foresty will earn more money annually for Taranaki than butter-fat will. Here is something for readers to ponder over.
