MAJESTIC RADIO.
J. B. MacEWAN’S FINE DISPLAY. One of the most interesting exhibits in the entrance hall is the fine display of Majestic Radio Receivers shown by Messrs J. B. Mac Ewan and Co., Ltd. With the 1931 range of Majesties will be found some of the very latest features in radio design, including the Multi-Mu tube, which is an improvement on the screen grid, causing a well-designed receiver to cut out 25 per cent, of “man-made” static. It is characteristic of the Majestic engineers to be the first to perfect and incorporate this wonderful Multi-Mu tube. Tone control is a most important feature, and since the distributors have landed and tested their new models they are convinced that a receiver without tone control is obsolete. We all know what a bugbear it is when listening to a fading, station to be compelled to keep regulating the volume control. All this is overcome with the standard model Majestic. Centralised one-point control is a further feature. Tuning in by a meter viewer with the swing of a needle cuts out the objectionable noise and rush of the incoming signal of any station which happens to be on the air. These features are not new to radio engineers, and it is interesting to note that Majestic are the first in the field to incorporate them successfully in their standard models.
Improved super-heterodyne and tone control, the king of all circuits, is also a feature of all the 1931 models and is included in the Midget sets. T.n.yt, but not least, is the beautiful cabinet work.
Prices range from £29 10s upwards, and with the easy terms available are within reach of everyone.
