OLD CLOTHES COLLECTION
ARRANGEMENTS FOR JUNE 20. Further arrangements for- the old clothes drive to be held, in New Plymouth on Saturday week were made at a meeting of the committee yesterday. There were present Mr. J. R. Seeats (presiding), Mrs. Patrick, Sister Gill, Messrs. H. V. S. Griffiths, R. Day, V. Simpson, J. Logie, J. Joll, Eaton, Beswick, D. L. McKay, Mcßae and A. Dunkley (secretary)." ’ ' Mr. Day outlined a scheme for collecting contributions embracing all parts of the town. Tram-shelters at Strandon, David Street, Moturoa, Belt Road and Hobson Street and garages belonging to Mr. F. Cooper’ (Vogeltown) and V. Dalgleish. (.Wallace Placq) are to be used. The matter of custodians for the depots was left till next meeting. The Soldiers’ Club will be the main depot on the day appointed and will also be open on Friday to receive produce and clothing brought in by country residents. Garage proprietors are to be asked . to. .collect. gifts, brought in before then.
Any clothing or footwear available before June 20 will be accej) table by-.the committee.
