A London message states that the Eii-dish estate of the famous dancer Anna Pavlova has been valued at £14,147. ’ The Minister of Lands notifies the promotion of Mr. W. Robertson, Assistant Under-Secretary, to be Under - Secretary for Lands on the retirement, of Air. J. B. Thompson, Colonel Bartley Bull, the noted Jersey breeder of Brampton, Canada, arrived in New Plymouth yesterday alid will be the guest of Air. and Airs. E. Griffiths for the next ten days. Mr. A. T. Donnelly, Crown Prosecutor at Christchurch and chairman of the management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council, will leave for Englund by the Tamaroa on Wednesday an<£ will return about the end of September, states a Press Association message. Air. J. Pringle, who has completed over 40 years’ service With the Railway Department, for the past five years as business agent for the New Ply mouth-Pal-merston North section, is soon to retire. Air. Pringle is visiting Taranaki accompanied by Mr. V. J. Stanley, of head office, who succeeds him as business agent.
