Proceedings are pending in the High Court to test the legality of the Home Office action in prosecuting persons selling Irish sweepstakes tickets, says the Daily Express. The issue raised is briefly: Have English authorities the right and power to interfere in any domestic scheme legally sanctioned by the Irish Free State and approved by the King through the Governor-General.
