(From Our Own Correspondent.) The oppning of the flower show in connection with Knox Church takes place to-day' (Thursday). The entries nave come in well, and with the line weather continuing the show should be a success. The freezing works picnic committee me; on Tuesday evening, when a comprehensive sports programme was arraugeij.' an<l officials appointed. The picnic is to be held at King Edward Park, Stratford, on March 14. The Seaside Society has decided to abandon the idea of a beach picnic cn Easter Monday and to hold a euchre p- rty instead. ’ It was also decided -o apply to' the New Plymouth Caledonian Society for the first ingleside this wintc for the Seaside Society’s benefit. A further improvemeut to the surroundings in the shape r f a lawu around the tea kiosk is to be commenced straight away, - -
