SIX BY-ELECTIONS PENDING

RESIGNATIONS in GREAT BRITAIN.

Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Feb. 17. Owing to ill health Mr. Hugh Morrison, Conservative member for Salisbury, resigned his seat in the House of Commons to-day. At the general .election Mr. Morrison had a majority of 2(500 over the Liberal candidate and 11,000 over the Labour man. It is anticipated at the by-election now rendered necessary, Conservative, Liberal and Labour candidates will again contest the seat. Six by-electioris are pending owing to recent resignations arid deaths of members of Parliament.
