Mr. Forbes has received a communication from the Governor-General requesting that his official salary and allowance as Governor-General should be subject to the reduction of 10 per cent, as is proposed in the case of salaries of officers in the public service throughout the Dominion. Mr. Forbes has written to his Excellency expressing appreciation of the Government at Lord Bledisloe’s publicspirited action and intimating that his very kind offer is gratefully accepted.
