AN UNNATURAL OFFENCE
TWO YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT. Robert Thomas McCallum was sentenced by Mr. Justice. Adams iu the Supreme Court at New Plymouth yesterday to imprisonment for two ypars for an unnatural offence at. Stratford. Mr. C. E. Monaghafi, who appeared for accused, pointed out that McCallum, a single man, 53 years of age, had been drinking fairly heavily oh tlie day of his offence. He entered a vacant section and was sufipcquiently fdiihd there by the police about 10 p.nf; in cifciimstahjces that could have only one construction. Counsel realised that it was dif--ficult for . a normal-minded person tp discover A reasonable explanation for such conduct, or to advahde any miti- ■ gatirig circumstances.
