CONTINUING SENIOR MATCHES. GAMES TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY The management committee of the North Taranaki Cricket Division met in New Plymouth last! evening. Present: Messrs. C. G. Bottrill (chairman), A. Gilbert, P. Hawkins,: J. Thompson, H. W. Brown, P. Sheppard and H. J. Abram (hon. secretary).- 1 ' , : ;

The meeting considered the matter, of - carrying on the senior fixtures.-It was 'decided that no more pointe be counted after the end of the present round, but that one-day matches should be continued if . possible. / The arrangements for carrying on the senior fixtures are to be considered next week. On behalf of, the Taranaki Boxing Association, Mr. V. Pruden- attended the meeting, suggesting that the Boxing. Association would make a grant of £3 3s to the division’s, funds to-coyer any loss if . the divisiqn would postpone, its games on the - day pf 'tfoe fight. -. < ..... The division; thanked tbe Boxing Association for its offer but stated ..that it. had decided. to continue all fixtures on Saturday: as usual. It was pointed out that the total loss to the di vision if games were suspended would to about £B.

The action of the chairman in ordering the fixtures to be continued bn the day of the Taranaki Jockey Club’s meeting and in devoting £5 from the ground fees for the day to the earthquake relief fund /was confirmed. “ The North 1 Taranaki Primary School Sports ■ Association wrote stating - that the annual -meeting" of the association hadi,-passed a-vote of thanks'to the division for its assistance to and interest in .primary- school cricket. - With regard to the division’s desire that primary school cricket, matches continue after - the. Christmas - holidays, the assocation had decided ; to notify schools that i the first . round of the 1931.. primary school cricket ■ competitions, beginning on February 13, should continue . fortnightly. " _ . The Primary .Schools’ Association notified that -Mr. A. V. had been appointed its delegate on the division.
