The Taranaki Cricket team, which isfl to commence a match against; Manawatu to-morrow (New Year’s Day) for the' . Hawke Cup,-leaves -by - car to-day-for Palmerston North. Of the' original, selection R. Eden (Okaiawa) is definitely; : not available, and C. N. Kingstone (New Plymouth) is still-doubtful. Otherwise all the members are available as far as is known ,at the present time, and . the , team is a strong one which should, not ■ disgrace the province it represents. Owing to the uncertainty regarding * Kingstone, and the possibility of . one it other alteration, it is not quite certain 7 which player or players out of H, F.; Fookes (New Plymouth Old Boys);. A. - Petty (New Plymouth Old Boys) and S.; Betts (Kaponga) will be included in team. If additional strength is required > in the batting Betts will be taken, and if in bowling Fookes will be included. Petty is the reserve wicket-keeper ;in| case Kingstone is not available.
