MATCH AGAINST MANAWATU.
TARANAKI TEAM LEAVES TO-DAY.
The Taranaki Cricket team, which isfl to commence a match against; Manawatu to-morrow (New Year’s Day) for the' . Hawke Cup,-leaves -by - car to-day-for Palmerston North. Of the' original, selection R. Eden (Okaiawa) is definitely; : not available, and C. N. Kingstone (New Plymouth) is still-doubtful. Otherwise all the members are available as far as is known ,at the present time, and . the , team is a strong one which should, not ■ disgrace the province it represents. Owing to the uncertainty regarding * Kingstone, and the possibility of . one it other alteration, it is not quite certain 7 which player or players out of H, F.; Fookes (New Plymouth Old Boys);. A. - Petty (New Plymouth Old Boys) and S.; Betts (Kaponga) will be included in team. If additional strength is required > in the batting Betts will be taken, and if in bowling Fookes will be included. Petty is the reserve wicket-keeper ;in| case Kingstone is not available. The team as constituted at present is?i as follows:—C. N. Kingstone (New Ply-i mouth),' 0. M. Nasmith (New Ply*( mouth), C. G. Clarke (New C. Lash (New Plymouth Old Boys), Q. : L. Ewart (New Plymouth Old Boys), L. Petty (New Plymouth Old Boys), St. Giddy (Tarurutangi), J. Chee vers (Hawera Old Boys), H. Barker (Hawera Old. Boys), C. Sturrock (Hawera Technical? High School). Eleventh player to be selected from H. F. Fookes, S.-Betts and A. Petty. The secretary of the Taranaki Cricket, Association (Mr. D. F. C. Saxton) will travel with the team as manager, and Mr. E. L.
