THE GAME Or FISHPONDS.
This is a splendid little game that any boy or girl can play and enjoy. Almost any number can play, and the game is quite easy to make. First of all you should draw a simple outline of a fish and cut it out, or cut out a picture of a fish and paste it on some stout cardboard. Then paint it to your liking, putting the eyes and mouth in black. When quite dry make a little holo in the topmost fin and your fish will be complete. You can draw and cut out as many fish as you like. Six pieces of stick about twice the length of a pencil must now be chosen and a bit of' thin string of the same length tied to tho end of each rod. Then with either pins or wire make six hooks. Tie a tiny knot at the end of the string and fasten the hook into it. The next thing you have to make is the pond. For this you will need the lid of a largo cardboard box. Paint the outside blue to show water, and then make slits a quarter of an inch long in several places. Place this “pond” in the middle of the table and stand the fish by means of their lower fins in the little slits. The object of the game is to catch as many fish as possible by hooking the line into the fish’s fin. This is not as easy as it looks. Tho game is played in the following manner: The players are either to stand or sit round the table and hold the rod well over tho fishpond. Any fish may be angled for, but the lino and hook may not be guided by the hand, only by the rod. The player who catches the greatest number of fish wins the game.
