Received July 21, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, July 21 Pending inquiries, Peter Xury and his family, the party who were unable to land in New Zealand and who came to Sydney by the Niagara, are being detained aboard the vessel by the Customs authorities. Xury states he was most surprised at the New”” Zealand authorities’ refusing them permission to land as none of them had ever been in trouble.
