Dr. Von Ehrenthal. director of Kothen, the paper of the Technical Institute of Germany, on behalf of Australian and New Zealand Investments, Limited, has carried out-experiments in making paper from New Zealand hemp. He reports that it is better than (he usual pulp from wood and grain straw, and equals the better quality manufactured from linen rags. It is suitable for copper plate printing, paper for bank notes, fine note paper and tissue cigarette paper and could be used for improving medium paper made from eucalyptus pulp.
