CRICKET BALL AT HAWERA.

OLD BOYS’ CLUB FUNCTION.

Success attended the Hawera Old Boys’ Cricket Club ball held in the winter show buildings on Wednesday night. There was an attendance of over 300 dancers, including visitors from all parts of Taranaki, the floor space being wellfillcd.

Tho arrangements for the function were in the hands of a committee which spared no pains to make sure that patrons found plenty of enjoyment. The decoration scheme of blue and maroon streamers and greenery in profusion reflected credit on those responsible for its design. Brilliant lighting completed the scheme. A feature of the decoration scheme was a miniature cricket pitch in the lower hall. A sumptuous supper was provided by a ladies’ committee. Messrs. A, Walker and L. Hulbert were masters of ceremonies, while McNeill’s orchestra provided a feast of the latest dance music.
