The Blenheim Oil Well Co. report fo? the period June 27 to July 13: —From 0 to 24ft, brown sandy clay; from 24ft to 38ft, volcanic agglomerate; from 38ft to 41ft 7in, valcanic rock; from 41ft 7in to 55ft 9in, volcanic rock; from 55ft 9in to 75ft 9in, volcanic rock; from 75ft 9in to 84ft 3in, hard sandstone; from 84ft 3in to 107 ft Gin, hard sandstone; from 107 ft Gin to 117 ft 6in, slight caving sand; from J 17ft Gin to 161 ft Gin, hard sandstone; from 161 ft 6in to 172 ft, bad caving sand; from 172 ft to 253 ft, sandy claystone or pape; from 253 ft to 306 ft, papa or claystone.
