MR. POLSON SEEKS FUNDS. (Bv Wire— Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. Notice was given by Mr. W. J Polson m the House of Representatives to-day to ask the Minister of Public Works whether the Government would take into consideration the allocation of a moiety of the highway funds to feeder roads, not either main or secondary highways, in order to provide country work for men and to create more adequate means of access to back country, and whether it had given any consideration to the raising, of a sufficient sum upon the security of the revenue from motor taxation to allow the road constitution programme to be proceeded with in anticipation ’of such revenue, which would absorb the unemployed and assist in improving the conditions for back country settlers.
