ALLEGED “TIFF” AT DANCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Carterton, July 10. Roy Chapman, aged 18, son of Mrs. S. Swan, was found shot at an early hour this morning in a stable a hundred yards from the house. The youth had been to a dance at Kopuaranga. It is alleged that he had a tiff with a girl and that he shook hands with friends, intimating that they would not see him again. Then he camo home. At 3 a.m. his mother and brother both heard a shot. They went to investigate and found the lad lying in the stable with a shotgun alongside his body. Evidently ho had placed the gun in his mouth and blown his face away. An inquest is to be held.
