OBSERVANCE OF SABBATH

WAIKATO SYNOD DEBATE. (By Wire—Special Reporter.) Hamilton, Last Night. The adjourned debate on the Sunday ooservance question came forward at the Waikato Synod on Friday, when the Rev. L. B. Harvie pointed out that after two days the atmosphere of the original debate was lost. He suggested the motion should be put. Replying, Bishop Clierrington said, that whether synod agreed with him or not on lus statement he had the proper observance of the Lord’s Day at heart. He merely wished to impress upon the people the meaning of the Lord’s Day and how it should be kept. As many of those who had spoken to the motion had left He could not reply to them. The bishop consented to amend _ his motion as follows, and it was carried? That in the opinion of synod the proper observance of the Lord’s Day is a matter affecting the spiritual and national life of the people, and it calls upon church people to give the matter more serious thought.
