WOMAN WORRIED TO DEATH

AN INQUEST AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. An inquest concerning the death in Auckland Hospital on Tuesday of Janet Matthews, married, aged 55, of Halesowen Avenue, Edendale, was opened before Mr. R. McKean, S.M., coroner, to-day. Evidence was given by the son of deceased that she was living apart from her husband. On June 17 she attempted to commit suicide by cutting her throat. She had been depressed for some time. Dr. E. R. Leonard said deceased’s death was not due to the wound in her throat, but she had worn herself out with worry and depression. • The coroner ordered that a post-mor-tem examination should be made and the inquest was adjourned.
