MASCOT FOR THE NORGE.

FLYING TO NORTH POLE. COMPANION OF THE PILOT. AIRSHIP READY TO DEPART. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received April 13, 5.5 p.m. London, April I3>. Colonel Nobile, pilot of Captain Amundsen’s airship Norge, was greatly perturbed at the action of the authorities in seizing his mascot fox terrier immediately it was landed, owing to quarantine requirements. There was a possibility that it would have to be destroyed, but arrangements were subsequently" made to keep it in quarantine until the Norge’s departure. “He is coming with us to the North Pole,” said Colonel Nobile. “He is my faithful companion, and I would not be happy without him.” The Norge is awaiting favourable weather to start for Oslo. Her departure will most likely be made on Tuesday.
