MANAIA GOLF CLUB. The following is the report to be presented to the annual meeting of the Manaia Golf Club to-morrow night:— Your committee have pleasure in submithig the statement of accounts for the past financial year and desire to congratulate the members on a very successful season’s play. The total membership was made up as follows: 34 gentlemen (2 part season), 26 ladies, 2 junior members. Total 62. The financial position of the club must be regarded as highly satisfactory. The increase of revenue for the past twelve months amounted to £3B 14s 4d. Out of this your committee decided to expend the sum of £l4 4s 6d on improving the greens for next season. This leaves a net increase of income amounting to £23 19s lOd. As will be seen from the accounts the cost of the new golf house was £135 Is Bd. Of this amount the club has been able to pay £45 Is 8d from its own accumulated funds and the balance is a loan kindly provided by Mr. A. H. Christie at 6 per cent. It is regretted that subscriptions are still outstanding to £7 10s. This is very unfair to financial members, ft is suggested that in future, if members are not financial by a certain date, they should not be allowed to use the links. A good improvement in the greens should be noticeable next season as the services of Mr. Badland were obtained at the close of the season to level and sow the greens. Your committee desire to place on record their appreciation of the kindness of the owners of the grounds on which the links are situated in permitting these grounds to be used for play. In conclusion your committee wish the club every success and trust that the next season will be good in every respect. 1 GENERAL. Miss M. Willis, of Manaia secured second place in the 100 yards Presbyterian Young Women’s Bible Class sports at Hawera. The Manaia team won the relay.
