MAN WITH BAD RECORD. By Telegraph.—Press Association Hamilton, Nov. 25. A half caste, Jack Maufel Wilson, labourer, at Manunui, was charged at the Supreme Court with having assaulted and robbed Jack Goodall at Whangaporeto, near Mamunii, on August 4. Evidence showed that the parties were employed at a bush camp and attended a gambling. school. Wilson lost his cash, but Goodall won a fairly large sum. including a new £lO note. Accused approached Goodall for a loan, but the latter put him off. Early next morning Goodall went to the stable to attend to the horse when he was vio--ten-Hy Mruck and rendered unconscious. On coming to he ascertained that he had been robbed of most of his previous night’s winnings. Subsequently he ascertained that Wilson had cashed a £lO note. A verdict of guilty was returned. Prisoner has a bad record. Sentence was deferred.
