MASONIC GRAND LODGE.
ANNUAL COMMUNICATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Nov. 25. The annual communication of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand opened to-day, Mr. R. 11. Richmond, Deputy Grand Master, presiding. The election of officers resulted in the unanimous selection of Sir Charles Fergusson as Grand Master and Mr. Oliver Nicholson (Auckland) pro-Grand Master. The other principal elective offices were filled as follows: —President Board of General Purposes, Mr. C’harles Rhodes; president Board of Benevolence, Mr. T. U. Wills; Grand Treasury, Mr. Morris Copeland; Grand Registrar, Mr. C. L. Mac Diarmid (all Auckland); Grand Chaplains, Revs. C. B. W. Seton (Auckland), J. Perkins (West Coast) ; Senior Grand Deacons, Mes-srs D. J. Round (Canterbury) and A. J. Geddes (Southland); Junior Grand Deacons, Messrs J. Gordon (Wellington), S. J. Ball (Nelson); Grand Directors of Ceremonies, Messrs F. W. Herbert (Auckland), J. Guinness (Wellington), F. R. Flatman (Canterbury), and J. M. Rodger (Otago). The report of the Board of Benevolence showed that £796 had been dispensed in relief during the year. The financial reports showed that the total amount of the accumulated funvU was £88.891, of which £64,658 belonged to the widows, orphans and aged Masons’ fund, £6440 special war benevolent fund. The installation of the Grand Master was deferred till Saturday evening.
