LEASE OF SEASIDE SECTIONS. (From Our Own Correspondent. Waitara, Dec. 22. The Waitara Harbour Board held a special meeting on Friday for the purpose of reaching a final agreement in respect to the granting of seaside leases. Mr. C. F. Dowsett, the board’s engineer, plaued before the board a sketch plan of the sections with the necessary roads. The majority of the sections are one-eighth of an acre, but some on an angle will be a quarter-acre. The board agreed with the proposed plan, and instructed Mr. Dowsett to survey the road and three seaward blocks. It was decided to hold a sale of 21 sections by auction for a term of thirteen years, the upset rental to be £1 per annum. It was also decided that the pin chasers of the sections must erect improvements to the value of £lOO, within twelve months. THE FIRE BRIGADE. At the quarterly meeting of the Fire Beard on Friday evening the question, of brigade finance was raised by a member. It was decided that, while not directly concerned with the inner finances of the brigade, the board realised that to offer ant encouragement to its members and to ensure the methods of the brigade being kept up-to-date, it was essential to attend demonstrations and confer--ences, which incurred considerable expense. This expense, however, could only be borne by the publjc. The board promised its moral support in the effort to raise funds. It was decided to replace new uniforms for those worn put. FORESTERS’ LODGE. The annual meeting of the local Foresters’ Lodge was held on Friday. P.C.R. Bro. A. Andrews presided over a good attendance. It was reported that the court’s funds new totalled-. £2600, and the membership stood at 180. Bro. C. Harvey, D.C.R., assisted by Bro. Bint, P.G.R., installed the following officers for the ensuing term: C.R., Bro. W. Rogers: S.C.R., Bro. E. W. Waters; S.W.. Bro. A. S. McGregor; J.W., Bro. Antonovic; 5.8., Bro. A. Chadwick; J. 8., B\o. B. C. Arnold. After the conclusion of business a social function was held when a pleasant evening was spent. ROWING CREWS. The following crews have been selected to compete for Mr. Arch Keith’s trophies, which will take place early next month. The Drysdale Challenge Cup goes to the winners for the season: J.
