DRAMA IN COURT.
“DEAD’’ MAN APPEARS. HEARS DEATH SENTENCE. CASE OF LOST MEMORY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright, Received Dec. 23, 5.5 p.m. Rome, Dec. 22. The jury at Naples had just found a peasant named Sabatino guilty of the murder of a missing butcher, with whom he quarrelled, when the latter rushed in to court. He explained that Sabatino, during -a fight, knocked him senseless. Afterwards he suffered from loss of memory, strayed away, and had only recovered that day, when he first learned of the trial.
The judge adjourned the case for the purpose of the butcher’s identification.
