PLANS FOR COMING YEAR
OLD FOLK ENTERTAINED.
The monthly meeting of the W.C.T.U. was held in the Workers’ Social Hall on December 10. Mrs. H. Jones (president of the local branch) presided. The yearly reports were adopted. Plans of work for the coming year were discussed, and members expressed their willingness to help in order to make the work more effective. During November over 500 adults visited the rest room. Mrs. Wilkie, who is superintendent, is assured that the public will endeavour to make the room self-sup-porting.
Last Wednesday afternoon several of the W.C.T.U. members visited Rangiatea Home, and distributed sweets and cakes with Christmas greetings. A splendid programme of vocal 'and instrumental items, arranged by Mrs. Craig, was submitted and greatly enjoyed by those present. Items were rendered by the following:—Pianoforte solo, Mrs. Fredric; solos, Mrs. Craig, | Lisses Louridge and Cartwright; violin solos, Mrs. Robson; the accompanist being Mrs. Fredric.
