AMERICAN CUP.

THE NEW SHAMROCK. Toronto, Nov. 29. Sir Thomas Lipton arrived here from NeW York yesterday, and immediately visited Toronto gaol, where he spent two hours with Aemilius Jervis, a foremost Canadian yachtsman, who is serving a sentence of six months’ imprisonment for charging secret commissions for the sale of Ontario Government 'bonds.

It was later announced by Sir Thomas that hie old friend had agreed to sail the new Shamrock Which Sir Thomas will enter for the America Cup race to be sailed in 1’926.

Sir Thomas declared that Jervis waS the best sailing skipper living.
