ACTS OF EXTREMISTS. BRITISH OFFICIALS SNUBBED. Calcutta, Dec. 2. The extremist mo-veinent in India is assuming a personal aspect, the spread of which can only result in greater communal tension. Recently the Karachi Corporation refused to grant a civil welcome to the Governor of Bombay, Lieut-Colonel Wilson, on his visit, but after heated reconsideration of the matter it was decided to vote a small sum for a public reception. : 'Mnbay Corporation, after an acrimonious discussion, decided last evening that their chairman should repr->~-nt at public functions during the forthcoming visit of the Viceroy, Lord Reading. The chairman, who is an extremist, promptly resigned.
