A WRECK REPORTED. By Telegraph—Prew Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, March 7. An unconfirmed report to-night states that the 4000-ton Japanese steamer Sukimaru haa been wrecked on the Japanese coast. There are no details. The vessel left Brisbane on January 19 for Kobe with a general cargo shipped from various Australian ports, including a large coueignment of wool. It is presumed that the cargo has been landed and that the vessel was on her return journey. PORT LYTTELTON TROUBLE. Sydney, March 7. In connection with the trouble on the Port Lyttelton there is a possibility of the whole of the ships of the Commonwealth and Dominion line being declared black, failing the release of the members of the Port Lyttelton's crew. An outbreak of anthrax is reported in a well-known Shorthorn stud at Warren. Thirteen animals are dead. A severe earthquake was recorded at Yas«s. The Broken Hill municipal strike has extended to employees of the electricity works and the city is in darkness. Perth, March 8. A fierce fight occurred between the crews of the Australian steamer Barunga and the German steamer Hanover at Bunbury, following an argument concerning the war. Bottles and knives were freely used, and two Australians and one German were taken to hospital badly injured. The police are guarding the jetty and preventing the Australians from boarding the German vessel. Brisbane, March 8. ■Heavy rain in central and southern Queensland has caused floods and disorganised traffic in many cases. Aeroplanes have been requisitioned to enable station owners to reach their homes. Record floods are expected. So far one fatality is reported, a man being drowned in the Mnttaburra district while attempting to get through the flood waters.
