The thirteenth championship meeting of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union commenced to-day In overcast weather. Overnight rain rendered the tracks heavy. There was a large attendance and interesting contests were provided. Principal results are:— Publicans’ Handicap, 120yds.—-Final : W. Richardson 1, C. Pearson 2, W. Trembath 3. Time 12sec. Half Mile Championship—W. Trembath 1, Hack 2. Dalzell 3. Won easily by five yards. Time 2min 6sec.
Pole Vault Championship.—G. Koeti (Grey mouth), 9ft, 1: J. Telfer, Bft Ilia, 2.
Three Mlle Cycle.—H. C. Wood 1. P. Griffen 2, J. Griffen 3. Thirty starters. Time 7m In 37sec.
