(From Our Own Correspondent.)

Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Lawrence will be leaving Waitara on about March 18 on a trip to England, via the Suez Canal, and returning through America in eight or nine months’ time. Before leaving New Zealand Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence will spend about ten days in Auckland. They will also stay in Sydney for about a week. Their many friends will wish them a pleasant voyage and a safe return.

The annual meeting of the Waitara Brass Band was held on Thursday night, when there was a good attendance. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £27. which was very satisfactory. Last year’s officers were reelected,
