REICHSTAG TO DISSOLVE.
ELECTION ANTICIPATED.
By Telegraph—-Press Assn.—Copyright. London, March G.
The Berlin correspondent of The Times says that the Reichstag will probably be dissolved on Saturday. The Constitution provides that the elections must be held within GO days of a dissolution.
The Government appears to have come to the belated conclusion that there is no other way out of the deadlock. The Socialists are determined to adhere to their amendments to the Government decrees, which strike at the very root of their party and trade union principles. Therefore there is no alternative but to submit the amendments to a vote, which necessarily involves a general election at a time when the Socialists’ chances are at a low ebb.
