SPORTING AND DRAMATIC.

Of widespread interest is this week’s issue of the New Zealand Sporting and Dramatic Review with its abundant supply of illustrations secured from local and overseas sources and guaranteed to make a universal appeal. The centre pages are particularly striking, being composed of exhilarating scenes at Switzerland and Holland, devoted to the winter sports of ski-ing, ice yacht racing and showing some thrilling attitudes. Three full pages are taken up with Archbishop Redwood’s golden jubilee celebrations in Wellington depicting numerous picturesque incidents including the Children of Mary procession, benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, convent pupils march through Wellington, portraits of visiting bishops and other dignitaries, views of the .crowds, etc. The • Auckland Motor Club’s sports meeting at Takapuna is represented in a series of snapshots taken at sensational points and the Hawera Motor Cycle Club’s sports are also represented. The Australasian Sculling championship rowed on the Waitemata is interestingly shown. The Te Aroha Jockey Club’s meeting, the Wanganui Jockey Club’s fixture and the Taranaki Jockey Club’s jubilee will carry weight amongst the racing section. The review is on sale at all booksellers and stationers.— Advt.
